We listed the psychological aspects of perceiving urban environment as a source of stressing the individual. It has been shown that it is not only the objective characteristics of the urban environment that may adversely affect an individual, but also the peculiar attitude of a person to the environment and the person's individual features and mass objectives. The results of the empirical research carried out in 13 locations of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (N = 1647 people aged between 18 and 60 years) using questionnaires, projective techniques and personality questionnaires.
