The purpose of the study presented in the article is theoretical reflection on the meaningful transformation of the “Significant Other” representation in a transitive society. It describes the main attributes of a transitional society (instability, uncertainty, projectivity, multidirectionality, multivariability, innovativeness, etc.), indicating its institutional and value-related changes, their irreversibility, as well as unity of preservation and negation of rules, norms and values, old and new worldviews and world orders, their conflict and alternativeness.

Peculiarity of Subcultures of Young Males and Females in Russian Town

The relevance of the study is associated with the contradiction between the need of high school students for life self-determination in the context of gender socialization and the unpreparedness of the school education system to fulfil this need. The purpose of the study presented in the article is to identify the features of subcultures of young males and females in a Russian town. We tested the hypothesis of qualitative and quantitative differences in the subcultures of young males and females living in a provincial town.

The responsibility of the military provides for the successful implementation of their professional activities and stability of the state and society.

Attitudes Towards Out-Group Members: Ethnocultural Components and Socialization

The article presents the testing of the hypothesis that in the structure of individual experience, socialization as a form of adaptation to the environment is provided by more differentiated, late-formed systems, in comparison with ethno-cultural traditions and rules. The study involved 185 people, Russians and Kazakhs living on the same territory – in Saratov, Russia and Uralsk, Kazakhstan.

Formation of Discriminatory Personal Attitudes in the Process of Socialization

Discriminatory attitudes are an important regulator of individual and group behavior that is expressed towards representatives of various groups in the modern society. The importance of overcoming discriminatory attitudes for innovative development of the society has been confirmed. The article presents results of theoretical analysis of the problem of discriminatory attitudes formation from the standpoint of individual socialization. It is assumed that there are various sources of discriminatory attitudes that are actualized at different levels of individual socialization.

A multidisciplinary analysis of a person’s socialization has been performed based on the theory of three modes of oral tradition epic, lyric poetry, and drama. The paper proposes an idea that a person’s socialization can be viewed as sequential inclusion of epic, lyric, and dramatic components of the exploration of social space.

Peculiarities of Parent-Child Relations in Families Raising a Child with Disabilities

The article deals with the results of the theoretical and empirical study of the problem of parent-child relations in families raising children with disabilities. Main trends in the development of parent-child relations in a family where child has psychophysical development disorders were determined based on the qualitative analysis of the data available in scientific literature. The empirical study of parent-child relations in families raising mentally challenged children was carried out to confirm theoretical conclusions of the study issue.

The Dynamics and Personal Predictors of Preferred Coping Strategies of Cadets of Military High School

The purpose of this article is to analyse overcoming behaviour models in terms of the military socialization of cadet personality. The data show the dynamics of behaviour strategies throughout the entire period of training in military high school. It has been discovered that the third year cadets are exposed to use overcoming behaviour strategies against common crisis conditions, which is expressed in reducing the importance of active and prosocial strategies and strengthening of passive and aggressive ones.
